ADM 2400 Analog Data Monitor

The ADM 2400 is our newest offering in Analog Data Monitoring. The ADM offers portability, storage, DTMF decoding, and more.

• Portability
- The ADM 2400 does not require a PC to monitor data - it is completely portable!
- The ADM 2400 has a 320 x 240 LCD graphic display with backlighting for use in any location.
- The keypad has sixteen standard keys plus six special function keys and four screen addressable keys making using the ADM 2400 a snap.

• Data Capture Storage
- The ADM 2400 offers the storage for capture buffers. These sessions can be recalled and even uploaded to a PC with the AALogic View Software.
- The ADM has 128KB of nonvolatile storage. Enough to support large numbers of transaction events and multiple event sessions.
- Store and recall the session data on the ADM or upload to a PC for additional analysis, store backup archives, and print reports.

• Signal Trace
- The signal trace display shows a graphical representation of the AC signals on the line.
- This display makes it quick and easy to visualize the activity on the line and evaluate timing.
- Dial tone, DTMF tone bursts, reorder tone, carrier tones, and more are captured and plotted on the display.

• Field Upgradeable
- The programming for the ADM 2400 resides in flash memory. Upgrades and optional programs modules can be loaded to the ADM 2400 from a PC through the USB Port.

• Applications
- Debug Application Programs
- Validate Telephone Line Connections
- Measure Signal Levels
- Check Timing of Data Flow
- View Connect Sequence Events
- Identify Noisy Environments
- Decode Telephone Numbers
- Stand-Alone Operation
- Expanded Analysis with USB Interface to AALogic View, Windows Software.

  USB 2.0 PC Interface
Our new PC interface is USB 2.0. USB has become the dominant peripheral interface on today's computers and many customers have requested a USB interface. The USB interface connects the ADM 2400 to a PC for data monitoring, control, and firmware updates. AALogic View LE

Our new PC software package, developed especially for the ADM 2400 provides comprehensive support for the new capabilities and features of the ADM 2400 for those needing PC support. This includes uploading stored data, real-time monitoring, and program updates.

  Audio Output
We have added a new audio output jack. This allows recording of line activity and later played back for additional analysis. The ideal recording is a digital WAV or MP3 file by connecting the audio output to the microphone input of a PC and recording the session.

  DTMF Decoding
The new DTMF decoding feature allows users to quickly verify dialed DTMF sequences to eliminate possible dialing errors. Standard DTMF tones are decoded by the ADM2400. Stand Alone Connection
The ADM 2400 has an 128 Kb of internal storage, battery power, a display, and keypad. This allows the ADM to be used in portable as well as fixed locations. The high-impedance passive connections allow monitoring of modem data without interference between the origination and destination locations. The ADM 2400 also has metering and DTMF decoding built-in. These measurements and modes are possible without changing line connections. PC Interface

The available USB 2.0 interface connects to a PC for more detailed analysis with our AALogic View monitoring software.
The PC connection provides additional capabilities such as:
Uploading data stored in the ADM 2400
Saving session data to disk
Printing session information
Real-time data capture
DC line measurements
AC Line measurements

• Remote Control
- AALogic View software is designed to allow a PC to control the ADM2400. The ADM2400 is placed in remote (RMT) mode and the connects to the the AALogic View software via the USB 2.0 port. The user has virtually full control of the ADM2400.

• Recall Saved Sessions
- The ADM2400 can store capture data sessions in local memory. The AALogic View software can retrieve session information for analysis, saving to disk, and printing.

• Volt Meter
- The ADM2400 sends volt meter measurements to AALogic View software when the Volt Meter tab is selected and while capturing data. The DC and AC line information is available for lines 1 and 2 and the DC line information for line3.

• Parity Highlighting
- AALogic View provides parity highlighting. Users can select highlighting of data with parity bits set, parity errors, or both. Parity errors can indicate line errors and configuration errors.

• DTMF (Touch Tone©) Decode
- The DTMF Decoder tab is used to view dial and control tones on the line and quickly identify errors.

• Capture Data Print
- Print capture data to black and white or color printers. The output is formatted as it is on the screen for easy interpretation

• Save Data to Disk
- AALogic View can save session information to removable media or hard disk. These files can later be recalled for analysis, printing, and comparison with new information.

• Export to CSV Text File Format
- AALogic View's export to CSV text file is an easy way to transfer data to other programs, such as spreadsheets, for analysis and reports.

• HEX and Enhanced ASCII Displays
- AALogic View displays captured data in Hexadecimal or Enhanced ASCII formats. Enhanced ASCII displays control characters, the first 32 values, in bracketed, <>, format. This means that the data is easier to read. For example, instead of seeing an empty box or symbol for code 2, you would see .

• Detailed Timing Information
- The timing for each character is provided by the ADM2400. This information is viewed in AALogic View my moving the mouse pointer over the characters. A marker is also provided to allow detailed timing measurements and character count from the marker to the current mouse pointer position.

Capture Data can be captured live, recalled from the ADM2400 memory, or recalled from disk.

Configuration Settings for standard, data word format, Async/Sync, 2w/4w, single vs. multiple event mode, and display option readily available making it easy to determine and change the current settings.

Answer and Originate Data are on separate lines and color coded to make it easier to read.

Enhanced ASCII Display makes the common control characters appear in brackets, <>, nearly eliminating the need to keep an ASCII table close at hand.

Data Information is displayed on the left for characters under the mouse pointer. The information includes the byte number, HEX value, Enhanced ASCII display, and the time from the previous character.

Timing Marker information makes it easy to measure the timing and count the number of bytes from any location in the data to the current mouse pointer location.

Parity Errors are important to identify as the characters with parity errors may have been corrupted in transmission. Line noise and data mode errors can cause parity error indications. Two selections are available, Highlight bytes with parity bit set and Highlight parity errors.

Voltmeter measurements help determine the quality of the telephone lines. Problems with incorrect line voltage and noise are quickly identified.
Line Selection for lines 1, 2, and 3 identify the connector on the ADM2400 to test.
DC Voltage measurements are ±60 Vdc. DC measurements are available for all three lines.
AC Voltage measurements are ±1.5 Vac-pp or from -10 to +3 dbm. AC voltage measurements are available for lines 1 and 2.

DTMF Decoding is available for lines 1 and 2. DTMF digits are decoded and displayed in the DTMF decode window. Subsequent digit strings are displayed additional lines.

Sixteen Digits are decoded:

697Hz 1 2 3 A
770Hz 4 5 6 B
852Hz 7 8 9 C
