• Console Port Management
- Connect the console ports of your servers or other computer equipment to the Ethernet network with the DECserver. Once connected to the DECserver, virtually any network equipment with a serial port can be accessed, configured and managed from a centralized location on the LAN. Network Down? Easily manage your computer equipment using an out-of-band connection to diagnose and fix the problem.
• Serial Device Connectivity
- DECserver solutions make it possible to manage your serial-only devices over a network. Serial devices such as: modems, bar code readers, scanners, cash registers, laboratory instruments, numerically controlled factory equipment, and virtually any RS232 and RS423 based devices are supported.
• Traditional Terminal-to-Host
- The DECserver line is the direct descendent of the original terminal server. Over the years, DECservers have provided more than 10 million terminal and printer connections, in all kinds of environments and in over 50 countries around the world. Terminal-to-host connections are supported for TCP/IP and LAT. Both Telnet Listener and raw TCP Listener options are available for TCP/IP. For OpenVMS or other environments where the LAT protocol is used, reverse LAT is supported.
